Minutes of August 9,1965
The Board of Trustees of the Fayetteville Public Library held its
regular monthly session at 4:00 p.m. on August 9,1965 in the board
room.
Present:Board members$Mr.Webb Williams,Mrs.Lowell Chaney,Mr.Ted Wylie,
O.W.McMillen;
Librarians: Mrs.Hasel Deal,Mrs.Graeo Keith.
The minutes of July 12 were read and approved.
The report of the treasurer showed a balance on August 1,1965 of
$7723.18.
The report of the librarian showed a grand total circulation of 17,724
for the month of July and a total registration of 171.
The chairman agreed to take up with State senator Wade the matter of
the sale tax on books purchased out of the state with a view to his
taking steps toward getting the law changed.
Mrs.Deal reported that the newly created regional library had made a
good start.
