Fayetteville Public Library Board
Minutes of December 14,1964
The Board of Trustees of the Fayetteville Public Library held its
regular monthly meeting on December 14,1964 in the beard room
at 4:00 p.m.'
Present:Board members:Mrs.Lowell Chaney,Mr.Ellis Shelton.VoW.MeMillen;
Librarians:Mrs.Hazel Deal and Mrs.Qraeo Keith. In the absence
of the chairman the secretary presided.
The minutes of November 9 were read and approved.
The report of the treasurer showed a balance on hand of $4763.74
on December 1.
Aecording to the report of the librarian the circulation for November
was 10,977 and registrations were 180,adult 93 and juvenile 87.
Record is made of the donation of a beekfitand for the Arkansas Room
by the Women's Civic Club.
The librarians reported that the Telephone Company in giving us a
separate listing under the caption "Library" switched the county
and city telephone numbers,whiek is causing mach eenfusion.It was
agreed to ask Mr,Wylie to speak to Mr.Shibley about the matter to
see what could be done.
Proposed by Mr.Shelton and sooended by Mrs.Ckaney,#otion carried to
give a bonus of $25 to the five full time employees of the library
for this season.This is in keeping
with the policy of the City of Fayetteville with respect to city
employees.
The meeting adjourned at 4:40 p.m.
