Minutes of. September 14,1964
The Board of Trustees of the Fayetteville Public Library held its
regular monthly meeting on September 14,1964 in the board rooms at
4:00 p.m.
Present:Board members:Chairman Webb Williams,Mrs.Lowell Chaney,
Mr. Ted Wylie, 0.`vV.McMillen
,':,Librarians;Mrs. Hazel Deal,Mrs.Grace Keith.
The minutes of July 13 and August 10 were read and approved.
The treasurer's report for ;august showed a balance on September 1
of $3804.32.
The librarian's report for August showed a circulation for August
of 14,835 and 103 registrations.
It was voted to increase Mrs.Bullock's salary to $250 per month as
from. September 1,1964,which amount is already provided in the budget
and to authorize other salary adjustments within the budget at the
discretion of the librarians.
Mrs.Keith reported the following facts concerning the successful
summer reading program%
Registrations 540 Average attendance:
Certificates of Grades 1-i3 83
accomplishment 270 Grades 4-6 38
Books checked out:
Fiction 21,132
Non-" 7,396
Mrs.Deal reported on matters connected with the possible establish-
ment of a regional library for Washington and adjoining counties of
Benton and Madison.
It was agreed to authorize the chairman to purchase a lawn sweeper
to cost approximate.�$21.00.
The Board adjourned at 5:10 p.m.
