Minutes of April 13,1964
The Board of Trustees of the Fayetteville Public Library met in
regular session at 4:00 p.m. on April 13$1964 in the Directors'
room.Present were Chairman Webb Williams,Mr.Ellis Shelton,Mr.O.W.
McMillen,and Librariens:Mrs.Hazel Deal and. Mrs.Grace Keith.
The minutes of Marc. 16 were read and approved.
It was agreed to postpone making a contract for elevator servicing
until Ha.rkenstein acts on�thb present situation.Mr.Williams reported
that steps are being taken through Mr.Boyd of Brennan -Boyd to bring
about action from the company.
Mr.Williams reported that Mr.Omohundrollhas been engaged to take
care of the library grounds during the summer.
The Board received the report for March from Mrs.Deal.She reported
a total circulation of 11,896 including 167 slides that were checked
out during the month.
It is noted that the new shelves for the children's area and the
record player have arrived and are in use.
Mrs.Keith reported on talks made during National Library Week at
the Adult Center and at the Leverette School P.T.A.
Mr.McMillen reported that he and Mr.Wylie had consulted a designated
person concerning the advisability of purchasing the property just
east of the Library and that the reaction was most favorable:It
should be acquired by all means.
Mrs.Deal reported that certain members of the staff would be leaving
soon and that replacements would consequently be needed..At her re-
quest it was voted to authorize her to engage available persons at
her discretion within the limits of the budget provisions.
The meeting adjourned at 5:10 p.m.
