The Board of Trustees of the Fayetteville met in the Director's room of the

Library November the fourth 1963 at 4:00 p. m. Present were Mr. Webb Williams,
Mr. Ted 'Wylie, Mr. Ellis Shelton, Mr. 0. W. McMillen, Mrs. Lowell Chaney,
Mrs. Hazel Deal.- and 'rs. Grace Keith. Also present was Mr. Richard Hipp, a.tt'y.
Purpose of the meeting wasto discuss proceedure for the establishment of a
Book EndoTwraent Fund with Mr. Hipp. It was agreed that the fund should be
known as the Fayetteville Library Book Endowment Fund. It was further agreed
that the
principal
be invested and the
interest
be used for the
purchase of
books.
Mr.
Hipp stated he would submit
a draft
for examination
by the
Board.
Mr. Willi --ms presented a, letter and. price list of colored postal. Dards of t'rie
Library building from Mr. Moncrief, photographer. While the Board was greately
interested in having the cards printed it was felt the cost should be borne
by someone other than the Library.
Mrs. Keith reported the Story Hour as being such a success that in the future-."
it would be held twice a month. She also stated the Library woud be kept
open until six o'clock from Monday through Thursday afternoons. A survey
is being kept to determine if the longers are justified.
Mrs. Deal reported the ?Book Fair had been most successful with manybus loads
of children from over the County attending. A group of students from Madison
County also visited the fair. Mrs. Deal told the Board the colored slides
were being catalogued and would be made available to the schools.
