MINUTES FOR A'!AY 1963
The Board od Trustees of the Fayetteville Library met in the
director's room at 4:00 p. m. May 27, 1963. Present were Mr.
Webb Wfilliams, Mr. Ted Wylie, 1%1r. Ellis Shelton, Mr. 0. W. Mc®
171i.11en, Mrs. Lowell Chaney, Ms's. Hazel Deal And lv1rs. J.I. Keith
Mr. Williams stated that Mr. A. D. McAllister, attorney, was
working on the Book Endowment Fund and woul4be able to proceed
with final plans some time this month.
The Board discussed keeping the Library open longer hours. The
servicies of two Librarians would be required to keep the Library
open evenings. Problems of disciplin in other Libraries open
evenings were considered. Mrs. Deal recommended waiting until
September to start keeping open until 6 p.m.
It was agreed that Cashmere Funkhouser be employed to care for
'the lawn during the summer months at the rate of '1.25 an hour.
It was further agreed that gas burners be installed in the kitchen-
ette of the auditorium. r"r. Williams said he would investigate
maintenance insurance for the heating and air-condition systeri.
Meeting adjourned at 5:30 p.m.
