HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962-10-02 MinutesFAYETTEVILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY 1vIINUTES FOR OCT. 29 1962 The Fayetteville Library Board met in the Director's room of the new library building October 2, 1962 at 4 p.m. Present were Mr. Webb Williams, Mr. Ted Wylie, Mr. Ellis Shelton, Mr. 0. W. McMillen, Mrs. Lowell Chaney, Mrs. Hazel Deal, Mrs. J.I.Keith and Dr. Robert Clack. Dr. Clack presented a sketch with syggestions for landscaping theAre.mises of the Library. Mr. Williams, M.rs. Deal And Mrs. Chaney agreed to accompany Dr. Clack on a tour of the city Sunday morning at 10 O'clockto see different types of plantings before making definite decisions. A1131� Mr. Williams stated that Mr. McClinton4'would pave the driveway with twoand one- half inches of hot mix at the cost of about #375.00. Mr. Shelton moved that we authorize the work on the driveway to be done. Motionseconded by Mr. Wylie and passed. A Mrs. Keith reported the book circulation was 9,615 for September which was an increase of 2,4.36 over September of 1961. She also reported that the auditorium was being used frequently by organizations. Mrs. Deal and Mrs. Chaney were appointed to select items of dishes and furni- ture offered the Library by the Women's Civic Club, Mr. McMillen Moved that the Board approve the transfer of Mrs. Cynthia Keyton to the County Library and to appoint Mrs. Vicky Allenas a full time employee. Motion seconded by Mrs. Chaney and passed. A motion that the Library be kept open until six o'clock Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings beginning November 1st, passed.
