HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962-08-28 MinutesFAYETTEVI�LE PUBLIC LIBRARY AUGUST 28, 1962 MINUTES The Board of the Fayetteville Library met in the Director's room of the Library Tuesday August 28, 1962 at 4:00 P.M. Present were Mr. Webb Williams, Mr. Ted Wylie, Mr. Ellis Shelton Mr. 0. W.Wcivd1len and Mrs. Lowell Chaney, Also Present were Mrs. Hazel Deal, Mr. Grover Thomas and Dr. Robert Clack. • Rules and Regulations for use of the auditorium were presented by the secretary. Mr. Wylie moved that they be adopted. Motion seconded by JJr. McMillen and passed. A copy is filed with the minutes. Dr. McMillen moved that Mrs. Keith's expenses be paid to the State Library Meet- ing in Little Rock. Seconded by ?vs. Wylie and passed. 0 The Boars approved the appointment of Mss. Cynthia Keyton to the staff on a 2 weeks trial basis. She will work 5 hours per day and will be paid $1.00 an hour. Dr. Clack reported on the progress of landscaping. He revda.led that Mr. Wiggans had donated most of the Zoysia used in sprigging the lawn. Dr. Clack also donated some of the grass. Suggestions for foundation plantings were discussed but no decisions were made. It was thought advisable that an over all plan be drawn up and Garden Clubs be given the opportunity to participate in the land- scaping, Mr. Williams said he would discuss the kind of Insurance needed by the Library with Mr. Jones. It was thought that the City might be able to get a lower rate on the building and equipment. Prior to the Board meeting Mr. Joe Wilkinson, president of the Lions Club, presented a Bell and Howell movie projector to the Library as a special gift •from the Lions Club.
