Home My WebLink About1962-05-18 MinutesFAYETTE11ILLE PUBLIC LIBRARY MINUTES FOR MAY 189 1962 The Fayetteville Public Library Board met May 18, 1962 at 4:00 p.m. in the new Roberta Fulbright Public Library Building. This was the first regular board meeting to be held in the new building. Present were Mr. Webb Williams, Mr. Ted Wylie, Mr. 0. W. McMillen, Mss. Lowell Chaney, Mr. Warren Segraves, Mrs. Hazel Deal and Mr. Grover Thomas. The Date for the Dedication and Open House was set for Sunday June 3, 1962. Mrs. Deal Stated that baring any unforseeable complications that the move from the old quarters at the City Administration Building could be com- pleted by that date. A policy of NO SMOXING in the Library proper was adopted. Guests who feel they must smoke will be asked to use the outer lobby where facilities will be provided. Arequest from Mrs. Ila Newbern, the new assistant librarian, that she be given time off to attend the American Library Association Convention in Miami, Florida during the month of June was denied by the Board.
