MINUTES FOR APRIL 139 1962
The Fayetteville public library Board met April 13, 1962 at 4:00 p. m.
at the Library. Those present were Mr. Webb Williams, Mr. Ted Wylie,
Mr. 0. E. McMillen, Mrs. Lowell Chaney, Mrs. Hazel Deal and Mr. Warren
Segraves.
Suggestions for the program for the Dedication and Open House for the
new Library were presented by Mr. Ted Wylie and Mrs. Chaney. A definite
date could not be set for the opening at this time but the Board agreed
that the hours should be from 2 until 5 P. m. on a Sunday afternoon. The
Board also agreed that Rev. Marius Lindliff be asked to give the Invoca-
tion; that Mayor Brown be asked to welcome guests; Mr. Williams will
introduce special guests; that Dr. Andrew Hall be asked to make the
Dedicatory speech and Father Malloy give the Benediction. No decision
was made concerning sending printed invitations to out of town guests
or a luncheon for special guests.
Mrs. Deal reported she had met with Mr. Bradshaw at the site of the new
building to discuss janitor service. Mr. Bradshaw said he would clean
the building four days a week for the sum on $150.00 a month. Cleaning
the auditorium and care of the lawn would be extra. The Board requested
that the rest rooms be cleaned five days a week. Mr. MCMillan moved
that Mr. Bradshaw be hired on these terms on a trial basis for two
months. Motion carried.
Rules and Regulations were briefly discussed but no decisions were
made pending further investigation.
Meeting adjourned at 5:45•
Respectfully submitted,
Edith E. Chaney, Secy
