MINUTES FOR APRIL 6, 1962
The Fayetteville public library Board met April 6, 1962_at 4 p. m. at
the Library. All members were present. Also present were Mrs. Hazel Deal
and Mr. Warren Segraves.
Members of the Board made reports on gifts from Civic Clubs. Mr. Williams
reported the Kiawanis Cliab would donate a gift of $250.00. The Altrusa
Club offered $100.00 in Hotel Stock but for various reasons this gift could
not be accepted. The ChioOmega Sorority will donate a gift honoring Mrs.
Miriam Vincenheller who devoted many years to Library service.
Mr. Shelton moved that Mrs. Keith's salary be raised to $2700.00 beginning
the first of May and that Mrs. Ila Newbern be offered $2400.00 as assistant.
Motion seconded by Mr. McMillen and carried.
Mr. Williams asked Mrs. Deal and Mrs. Chaney -to work with Mr. Segraves in
selecting draperies for the staff lounge, the Librarian's office and for
the meeting room.
Mr. Wylie and Mrs. Chaney were appointed as program committee to plan a
program for the opening of the new Library.
Meeting adjourned at 5:30.
