April 16,1957
The Fayetteville Public Library Board met at 7:00 p.m. on April 16,
1957 in the library rooms. Mr.McWhorter presided.
The following were present$Mr.McWhorter,Mrs*Deal,Mrs.Chaney,Mrs.Watson,
Mr.Wylie,Mr.Rudolph,Mr.Greenhaw,and Mr.McMillen. Later in the meeting two
representatives of the Rotary Club were present to discuss the matter of
helping with the proposal of securing a new library building.
The minutes for March 12 were read and approved..
MroMeWhorter reported that there seemed to be little hope at this time
of securing the City Lumber Company property for a library site.
The treasurer's report showed a balance in the First National Bank
of 0791.30.
The librarianfs report showed a circulation of 6,859 for March.
Mrs.Deal also reported briefly on plans for the summer reading pro-
gram.
The representatives from the Rotary Club showed interest in the prob-
lems of the library and assured the board of their desire to help in any
way they could in the matter of a change of location and building.
