Mr.McWhorter reported to the Board that Mr.John Kane had &. buyer for
his property, YValc1a we wish to purchase, and that we have until Tuesday to
decide .whether or not we will buy the Kane lot. It was agreed that we
would. meet on Monday night at the First Christian Church to mee°t with their
coznraittee to discuss the proposed exchange of property.
In general terms it .was understood that we would. propose to the First
Christian Church that in the exchange of property we would retain for
library use 127' from Dickson. Street south and 107' from the east boundary
line of the Kane lot running west to the alley adjoining the Stone lot on
which to build a. library 1001 x 1COt,set back 51 from the east boundary
line of the Kane lot. The First Christian Church would be given an easement
on the front part of the Stone lot west of the proposed. library building
to the alley for ingress and egress. The First Christian Church would give
the Fayetteville Public Library an easement on the property south of the
proposed library building for parking purposes. In the exchange of property
.with the First Christian Church the Fayetteville Public Library Board would
be giving about two square feet for one,by virtue of which fact it seems
to the Board to be more than a fair exchange without any cash pac", ent on
our part,
Adjourned.
