The Fayetteville Public Library Board met on Iiay 8,1056 in the library rooms
at 7:00 p,m, Mr.h.(:c;vhorter presided.

The minutes of $gril 1.7 were read and approved,
The -re-,ort of the treasurer showed a balance o.i "'1005,5)x. in the First �iational sank,
The report of the librarian showed a circulation or 6601 in April_.
,rs.Deal also reported that she had preg�ared. an appropriate list of books for
flower growers to be distributed at the flower show to be held at the fair grounds,
i1ppropriate book. lists for other group)s and organizations are contemplated..
i r,1':c<i4horter briefed the new members of the boars on the problem of seeking new
means of support for the library, a new building, and related matters.
1irs.Beal reported that she understood the!ational Csaard armory was for sale since
the Guard was seeking a place where there -vould be room for drill out doors.She
raised the question of our trying to secure the property for the library,In this
connection it was voted that a committee be named to look into the possibility of se-
curing the -property for the library and to investigate its suitability for -the pur-
pose. The chairman appointed 1':'rs.Cheney,i r,':<<illiaras,and 1,r.Greenhati. it was agreed
that 1'°r.l c!fiYlor ter and. I r.!; illi ams would see Nudge I aupin CURIMimgs to asll him concern-
ing what the l)ossibi lities might be.
A brief report on the library meeting for trustees held at "_ arrison tia -s given,It was
a successful meeting held on the local_ and state level.
