The Fayetteville Public Library Board met on .February 16,1956 in
the library rooms at 7'00 p.m..Mr.IVIcAgiorter presided..
Present were Mr.McIlhorter,Mrs. Chaney,Mrs.«Va.tson,Mrs. Adkisson,
RI'r.Rudolph, I a McMillen, rvIrs.Deal, and Mrs.Karl Neal, Execut ive Secretary
and Librarian of the State Library Consnission.
The meeting was called. to discuss the .matter of securing a site
for a library building and the particular date was chosen to take advan-
tage of the presence in town of Mrs.Karl Neal,who showed. the Board
various building plans for libraries in the state and elsewhere.
Yxr.McWhortex reported that the Kane property on E.Dickson was for
sale for X12,000. The question arose about the availability of the ad-
joining Stone property. Mr.IVWRhorter• was requested to write to Mr.a.nd
Mrs.Stone to raise the question of their willingness to allow the
Fayetteville Public Library to acquire that property. He was further-
more requested to look into the matter of the zoning regulations for
that part of town,
