March 13,1951 The Fayetteville Public Library Board held its regular monthly meet_ ing on March 13,1951 in the Library rooms.The memting was cal led to order at 7:00 p.m. by the chairman,Mr.iVlc', horter,Teho presided. Mf mbers present were Mai .Mcllhorter,Miss Vaulx,Mrs.Adktsson,Mrs.itiatson, Mr.1Vilson,Mr.Rudolph, a.nc1 Mr McMillen. Mrs.Deal, the County Librarian, also m®t v-ith the Board. The minutes of the January meetings were read and approved.. The Tr!!�asurer ls report -showed a -balance in the First National Bank of 03270.55. It -was reported that the Treasurer's books had been audited by Mr.L'.A.Cowan and :round in good, condition. The Chairman appointed the Following standing committees for the present year: Budget House: Chaney Creenhaw Wilson Blossom Rhea Book: Vaulx Watson McMillen Publicity: Rudo 1ph Adkisson The Librarian's report for January showed a total circulation of 3677 and that for Februa.r7,3689.Th� circulation for February 1950 �,iras 2572.The increase of February 1951 over the corresponding month in 1950 wa.s 1117. ` two In response to a recommendation from Mrs.Deal it was voted to approve/ new aectionsof 8helviniz in the children's department at a cost of approx- imately 30.00. V Mrs.Deal reported on the opening of a Negro branch library for adults at the Lincoln School in cooperation with the American Legion and- a woman's organization. On the recommendation of Mrs.Deal it was voted to grant idrs.Byroade a leave of absence this summer and authorize Rlrs.Dea.l to employ someone to take her pla.ce.The purpose of the leave is to allow Mirs.Byroad.e to study typing; in summer school.
