MINUTES
The only item on the agenda was the approval of the Final Plat SOUTHERN HEIGHTS, PHASE I
of Southern Heights, Phase I, located off the end of Rodgers Final Plat
Drive, South of Lighton Trail, and North of Huntsville Road;
S & J Co., Developers and Owners. The property is zoned R-1,
Low Density Residential District.
There was no one present to represent the developer.
Barbara Crook asked if the Bill of Assurances concerning the trees which Clayton
Powell had requested and the off-site easements had been submitted. Bobbie Jones
stated that the Bill of Assurances on the trees has been submitted; but that her
office still needs the off-site easements on utilities, storm sewer, and sewer.
There was some discussion about prohibiting parking along the older, narrow
portion of Rodgers Drive. Bobbie Jones said that the Traffic Superintendent,
Perry Franklin, had told her he was erecting signs to prohibit parking along
the side of the street which has no curb and gutter.
Melanie Stockdell moved to recommend to the Planning Commission that the Final Plat
of Southern Heights, Phase I be approved subject to the developer submitting to
the Planning Office the off-site easements shown on the plat for utilities, storm
drainage and sewer prior to the plat being released for recording. Barbara Crook
seconded the motion which was approved 2-0.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 1:45 P.M.
