MINUTES OF A SUBDIVISION:COMMITTEE MEETING
A special meeting of the Subdivision Committee of the City Planning
Commission was held on November 30, 1977, at 1:30 P. M., in the Board
of Directors Room, City Administration Building, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
— MEMBERS PRESENT: Ernest Jacks, Bill Kisor, Jack Ray.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Keith Newhouse, Larry Wood.
OTHERS PRESENT: Bobbie Jones, Angie Medlock, J. B. Hays, Ervan Wimberly.
Chairman Ernest Jacks called the meeting to order.
The only item for discussion was WESTWIND SUBDIVISION
Westwind Subdivision located north of Planned Unit Development
Township Road and east of College Avenue.
Bobbie Jones explained that she had called a special meeting to decide if the developer
had submitted enough information to meet the requirements of the Planned Unit Development
ordinance in order to get a building permit. She said the Ordinance requires that the
developer shall submit detailed plans for the streets and utilities; and a plan showing
the location of parks, open recreation areas and other open spaces, schools and other
public uses. She noted that this development will not have any common or open area.
She said they had not submitted any 'detailed plans and would not be able to submit
the final plat until January.
Ervan Wimberly and J. B. Hays were present to represent.
Mr. Jacks felt the only difference in this subdivision and a regular subdivision is
the smaller, private drive. He felt there should be some provision in the Zoning
Ordinance for private drives in subdivisions without making the developer submit a
Planned Unit Development.
Ervan Wimberly said there would be approximately another 18 lots or so in the other
phases of this development. He said water and sewer plans have been approved and
contracts let. He also stated that Clayton Powell has approved the street plans.
Mr. Jacks asked Bobbie Jones what else is normally required in a subdivision and
Bobbie Jones said they need to file. the final plat. Ervan Wimberly explained that
it would be January 9 before they could get to the Planning Commission.
Bill Kisor made a motion to allow the developer a building permit on Lot 2 but not
make any final inspections until the final plat has been filed.
Jack Ray seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 1:40 P. M.
