Monday, October]2, 1964, in the City Council Room of the City Administration Building, PRESENT: Suzanne Lighton, Chairman Bryan Walker James A. Vizzier Bob Battenfield James R. Hale The preliminary plat of Virginia Hills filed by James R. Hale had been referred to the Subdivision Committee on September 28, 1964, for further study and prepare a report for the next meeting of the Planning Commission. The corrected plat of Virginia Hills was filed in the Planning Office on October 6, 1964. This plat showed: 1. The real estate east of the proposed lot 2 of Block 4 has been dedicated to the public for use as a street. 2. The proposed KINGS DRIVE and existing Edgewood Street vrill be in line on the east sides, but will not be in line on the west sides. • 3. The strip of real estate south of the proposed sub- division of Virginia Hills and west of Edgewood Street belongs to the lot on the east side of Edgewood Street. 4. QUEENS DRIVE was still shown as a proposed street. 5. Draftsman had failed to show the 10 foot easement running east and west on the south portion of lots 1, 2 and 3 of Block 2 and on the north portion of lot 8 of Block 1. Easement was requested by Southwestern Electric Power Company. 6.. Although the street name cannot be changed in an exist- ing subdivision, the street known as EDCEId00D STREET is to be recommended to be changed by the City.Council to KINGS DRIVE, Por. James Hale was present to discuss the problems involved in eliminating the proposed QUEENS DRIVE. Mr. Hale submitted copies of the deeds of his property. He explained the problems involved; the main one being that he cannot build upon lots 1 and 2 of Block 3 and lots 1 and 2 of Block 1 as shown on the preliminary plat. Building restrictions had been put upon these lots and no buildings may be constructed until after January 1, 1975, or until these restrictions are removed. The Subdivision Committee recommended that all of the property owned by James R. Hale and Ruth Hale and proposed to be developed by said owners be shown on the preliminary plat; that proposed QUEENS DRIVE be eliminated•e and ,• that proposed KINGS DRIVE not be paved from the west side of QUEENS DRIVE to the southwest corner of Lot 2 of Block 3 unless required in the future or at least until such time as the subdivider be permitted to build upon lots 1 • and 2 of Block 3 and Lots 1 and 2 of Block 1. Bob Battenfield presented a sketch of Letson Clark's proposed subdivision. There was discussion had, but since a preliminary plat had not been submitted no formal recommednation was made. Because of the time which had been consumed during the previous discussions, the final plat of Block 2 and Block 4 of Elm -mod Addition was not given consideration at this meeting. It was the opinion of those present that since Mr. Pat Watkins, subdivider, had presented a preliminary plat and had filed a final plat on a portion of this real estate, there would be possibly only minor problems which would be discussed at the next Planning Commission meeting. The meeting of the Subdivision Committee of the Planning Commission was adjourned. Respectfully submitted, Ll • a MINUTES OF A SUBDIVISION COMMITTEE FETING The Subdivision Committee of the City Planning Commission met at 1:30 p.m., Monday, October 12, 1964, in the City Council Room of the City Administration Building.
