Steve Hatfield reviewed the on-stre linkage analysis dAbriefly explained the data
contained in each column of the spre Jget.
The definition of an on-stree linkage wa'disSd�to clarify; at there are multiple

Force me ere are many elements to consider in the planning and
design of a b e lane. Examples were shown for bike lane designs, Including
options for va ous street widths and on -street parking designations.
Wide Curb Lanes
• Lanes are typically 13 -15 feet wide
• Cyclists can operate along side of vehicles but may also take over the lane
Bike Lane Examples
• Typically 4-6 feet wide and striped
• Typically include arrows, words, and bicycle symbols

Separated Lane Examples
• Anything wider than a 6 foot on -street bike lane
• Includes 7 and 8 foot wide bike lanes
• Usually separated by bollards or a curb
The changes included In the proposed Transportation Improvement Plan include a lane
width of 11 feet A three foot outer lane expansion would create a total lane width of 14
feet.
