MINUTES OF A PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
The Fayetteville Planning Commission met in a special called session at
7:15 P.M., Monday, June 22, 1970, in the Directors Room of the City
Administration Building, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Members Present: Dr. Walter Brown, Dr. James Mashburn, Clark McClinton,
Morton Gitelman, Ernest Jacks, Roy Clinton.
Members Absent: Byron Boyd, Helen Edmiston, Al Donaubauer,
Others Present: Harold Lieberens.
The meeting was called to order.
Morton Gitelman explained that the purpose of this meeting was to approve
the proposed subdivision regulations as changed by Mr. Vizzier and as further
changed by Mr. Hove. Complete revised copies had been distributed to the
Planning Commission members.
Mr. Vizzier's changes were to reflect the changes asked for by the Planning
Commission. Mr. Howe's recommended changes do not alter the requirements
to a great degree, but are primarily to simplify understanding and admin-
istration. A couple of other changes recommended by Mr. Howe are as
follows:
Page 9: Bottom of page, add to general requirements of preliminary
plat vicinity sketch.
Page 10: General drainage plan with an "x" under preliminary plat
and drainage plan with proposed cuts and fills with an
11x1 under final plat.
Page 10: Radial and linear dimensions including angles, bearings
"referenced to true North" . , , ,
Page 14: Sanitary sewer systems in suburban areas also required to
be built according to plans and specifications prepared by
a licensed engineer, etc.
Page 14: Water and sewer service lines required to be installed before
streets are paved:'
Page 15: Under C, change 2 -year period to one year on the maintenance
bond.
Morton Gitelman moved that the Planning Commission approve and adopt Adoption of
the new subdivision regulations as amended by Mr. Viszier and Mr. Howe. SUBDIVISION
Dr. Walter Brown seconded the motion. It was approved unanimously, REGULATIONS
Morton Gitelman moved that the Planning Commission approve and adopt
the new zoning regulations as amended by Mr. Viszier except that on
Page 34 a correction be made adding two off-street parking spaces

for each unit of a duplex (or four spaces for a two-family dwelling).
Dr. Walter Brown seconded the motion. It was approved unanimously.
The Planning Commission had no further business at this time;
however, the Commission had been asked to remain for the Board of
Directors Meeting,
At 8:20 P.M. the Board of Directors considered the matter of the
General Plan recommended to them by the Planning Commission.
Chairman Clark McClinton of the Planning Commission read a statement
of objectives submitting the zoning and subdivision regulations
to the Board of Directors.
The joint meeting was adjourned at 8:50 P.M.
