MINUTES OF A CITY PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
The City Planning Commission met in a special evening meeting at 7:30 P.M.,
May 28, 1968, in the Directors Room of the City Administration Building,
City of Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Members present: James Mashburn, Walter Brown, Allan Gilbert, Clark McClinton,
Ernest Jacks, Morton Gitelman, Roy Clinton, Byron Boyd and
Wade Fincher.
Others present: Jim Visaier, Harold Lieberens.
The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Clark McClinton. The first
item of business was a discussion about the time that these future special
evening meetings should start and end. It was agreed that in the future the
meetings would start at 7:00 P.M. and would end at 9:00 P.M.
The meeting was then turned over to Jim Viasier. He presented some maps that
the Planning Commission will be using in their studies in the future.
Geography was didcussed in regard to the growth of Fayetteville. It was
brought out that the Fayetteville area has grown from about seventeen (17)
square miles in 1965 to thirty-five (35) square miles after the last annexation.
Jim Viasier discussed an.economic and population study that he had been
• making in the past few months.
Clark McClinton stated that it was 9:00 P.M. and time to close the meeting.
Jim Viasier stated that at the next meeting he would discuss land use and
street standards.
