HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-01-02 Minutes• MINUTES OF THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING The Planning Commission met in a regular business meeting Tuesday, January 2, 1968, at 4:00 p.m., in the Directors' Room of the City Administration Building, Fayetteville, Arkansas. Members present: Allan Gilbert, Byron Boyd, Wade Fincher, Walter Brown, Clark McClinton, Roy Clinton and Ernest Jacks. Members absent: James Mashburn��r Others present: Ed Clement, Harold Lieberenz, Merle Davis and L.M. McGoodwin. The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Clark McClinton. Jim Vizzier, City Planning Consultant, made a report of the purpose of the Community Renewal Program, and what has been done in regard to the program. After completion of Mr. Vizzier's report, Mr. L. M. McGoodwin requested per- mission to discuss a zoning problem with the members. He explained that he had purchased Lot 1 in Block 6 of Oakland Hills Addition With the intention of building an office building. This property is now in the C-2, Thoroughfare Commercial Zone. He mentioned that if he could have Lots 1 and 2 rezoned to C-1, Neighborhood Commercial Zone, it would be better for the surrounding property, and would give him more lot area for his office building. The Chairman, Clark McClinton, explained the rezoning of the area east of Mr. McGoodwin's property. Mr. McGoodwin was asked to submit a petition for rezoning to the Office of City Planning if he wishes to rezone any part of his property. There being no further business the meeting was adjourned.
