HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-02-01 Minutes• MINUTES OF A CITY PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING The City Planning Commission held its regular Annual Meeting at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 1, 1966, in the City Council Room of the City Administration Building. Members present: Bill Dalton, Clark McClinton, Allan Gilbert, Wade Fincher, Ernest Jacks and James Mashburn. (J. A. Vizzier was also present.) Members absent: Henry Shreve, Bryan Walker and Byron Boyd. The meeting was called to order by acting Chairman Clark McClinton. Because of time problem the preliminary subdivision plat of Garland Terrace was given consideration. After discussion Ernest Jacks moved that the preliminary subdivision plat of Garland Terrace be approved subject to compliance with the following items: 1. Relocation of streets - The north -south street be discontinued and the east west street be dedicated to the east property line. 2. Date be shown on the preliminary plat. 3. Names of adjacent property owners be shown on the plat. 4. Signatures of adjacent property owners be obtained as evidence that said owners have seen the preliminary plat. • 5. Correct the misrepresented street (20 foot easement) to the south. 6. Water valve requested in water main. The motion was seconded by Allan Gilbert and passed unanimously. The Chairman reported that the Planning Commission would now elect officers for 1966. James Mashburn nominated Clark McClinton for Chairman, Bill Dalton for Vice Chairman, and Ernest Jacks for Secretary. Allan Gilbert moved the nominations cease. The motion was seconded by Wade Fincher and passed unanimously. The officers for 1966 were elected by acclamation. A list of committees for 1966 was presented by Clark McClinton to the Planning Commission for approval. Ernest Jacks moved that the Planning Commission accept the committees recommended by the chairman. The planning consultant reported on action taken by the Aldermen at the City Countil meeting January 31. J. A. Vizzier, planning consultant, also reported on progress of the CRP program, the 701 Planning program and reported on future work. , There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
