HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-12-07 Minutes• 43 MINUTES OF A CITY PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING The City Planning Commission met in a regular meeting at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 7, 1965, in the City Council Room in the City Administration Building. Members present: Clark McClinton, Bryan Walker, Allan Gilbert, Ernest Jacks, Suzanne Lighton, Wade Fincher and Henry Shreve. Members absent: J. F. Palmer and Bill Dalton. Others present: J. A. Vizzier, planning consultant. The meeting was called to order by Vice-chairman Suzanne Lighton who presided in the absence of the Chairman. The minutes of November 2, 1965; November 9, 1965; and November 23, 1965, were approved as written and mailed. The street name problem (Waneetah Heights or Willow Avenue) which was called to the attention of the Planning Office by Mrs. James E. Grant was discussed. The Planning Commission recommended that Mrs. Grant consult with the alderman representing her and have him work on the street name problem. The Subdivision Committee (Suzanne Lighton - Bryan Walker) reported no plats had been submitted to the Committee for study and recommendation. • The Zone Revision Committee (Clark McClinton - Henry Shreve) was asked to set a date for meeting to discuss the zoning of annexed land on Highway 16 East. The Housing Code Committee's recommendation accepted by the Planning Commission (Resolution PC 16-65) was presented to the City Council December 6 and was approved bythe City Council. The planning consultant reported that another meeting of the Housing Code (Ernest Jacks - Wade Fincher) would be necessary to work on an enforcement plan. The Committee on Public Relations (Allan Gilbert - Bill Dalton) had no report. J. A. Vizzier discussed with the Planning Commission the question of accepting a deed for a 40 foot street right of vray with temporary turn -around. Jim McDonald was present to explain to the Planning Commission the building problem confronting The Automotive Incorporated on property south of East Township Road and east of U. S. Highway 71 North. The proposed building would have no street frontage unless the 40 foot right of way is acceptable. On motion by Ernest Jacks, seconded by Bryan Walker, the Planning Commission unanimously voted to recommend to the City Council the acceptance of a 40 foot street right of way with temporary turn -around for a street to run north and south just south of East Township Road. • RESOLUTION PC 29-65 BE IT RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION TO THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY M • OF FAYETTEVILIE, ARKANSAS. That the City of Fayetteville accept a deed for the dedication of a 40 foot right of way for a street with temporary turn -around.
