J. F. PALMER, CHAIRMAN
The W. C. Rogers plat was given consideration next. The Chairman said that he
felt the Planning Commission had little authority to make a recommendation on
this matter at this late date. The Chairman made a suggestion that Mrs. Seay buy
one of the three lots available. Bass Trumbo, attorney, was present to represent
Mrs. Seay. Mr. Trumbo said that Mrs. Seay and Mr. Rogers had been negotiating,
but no agreement had been reached.
Henry Shreve moved that the Planning Commission approve the final plat of
Mr. W. C. Rogers' Addition (Oakland Hills Addition provided that the subdivider
works out any errors in the subdivision with the City Inspector. The motion was
seconded by Clark McClinton and passed unanimously.
The third problem considered at this meeting was that of Mr. Glenn Will whot
was represented by Richard Hipp and Clifton Wade, attorneys. They presented a
plat of Mr. Will's subdivision known as Sun Rise Mountain Addition. The Sun Rise
Mountain Addition plat was filed in the County Clerk's office June 2, 1959,and
recorded in Blook 1, Page 111. The City Council had requested that the Planning
Commission check the street problem. There was some concern as to the street
widths and lay outs within the subdivision which had been petitioned to be annexed
to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas. After a long discussion, the members of
the Planning Commission unanimously approved the motion made by Henry Shreve and
seconded by Clark McClinton to advise the City Council that the streets as shown
in the plat of Sun Rise Mountain Addition are satisfactory as far as the Planning
Commission is concerned in regard to the width and lay out of the streets. It
was recommended that the plat be presented to the City Council.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
