Tuesday, D: 1963* 1 Members present: Suzanne Lighton, Bryan Walker, Henry Shreve, Hugh Stubblefield, George Caudle, Clark McClinton and J. F. Palmer. Also present were Harold E. Liberenz and fourteen (14) interested parties. ROW iRPROOKA, 1 171 I tog Mrs. C. Be Craig, 322 North Washington Avenue, made known her objections to the • widening east and west of the commercial zone. Mr. Henry Shreve arrived at the meeting at this time. Mr. Elmer H. Hook, 416 North Washington Avenue, asked about the distance of the commercial zone from North College Avenue east. Members of the Planning Commission and the City Building Inspector replied generally speaking the commercial zone followed the rear lot lines (lots as platted) or approximately 225 feet east of North College Avenue from Dickson Street north to Lafayette Street, Mr. Bryan Walker arrived at the meeting. Mr. Robert Be Burnham, 326 North Washington Avenue, had questions regarding the existence of an alley, a portion of which had been vacated. Mrs. C. Banks Newbern, 403 North Washington Avenue, stated she owned four lots on North Washington Avenue and with the constant threat of zoning changes she felt very insecure. The parties present remarked that real estate men continously inquired about property on North Washington Avenue being available for purchase. Mr. George Caudle left the meeting. The parties representing North Washington Avenue area inquired in the Planning Commission thought there is or would be aW need for rezoning property east and/or • west off North College Avenue from Dickson Street north to North. Street. All members replied with a negative answer. M There was a great deal of discussion by everyone present on the question of • whether or not the residential zone fronting Washington Avenue could be used for ingress and egress of a business located on adjacent lots in the commercial zone and said business fronting on College Avenue. At the close of the discussion, there being no further questions, J. F. Palmer thanked those parties present for their interest and reported the regular business session would commence. The minutes of the meetings of October 31, 1963; November % 1963; November 12, 1963; and November 18, 1963,were approved as written and mailed to the members prior to this meeting. The preliminary subdivision plat of,'Loy-Kinzer-was presented to the Plamin Commi sion for action. Henry Shreve moved that Loy Kinzerts preliminary subdivision plat of Kinwood Second Addition be approved subject to approval by the proper office on drainage and approval of compliance of the subdivision ordinance after the city building inspector has more closely chocked the plat. The motion was seconded by Bryan Walker and passed unanimously, I Roy Adamet preliminary subdivision plat was acted upon by the Planning Commission. Also the following action was taken regarding. closing an alley which extends off Gregg Avenue in Block 4 -of the Wilson -Adams Addition. Suzanne Lighton moved that the.Planning Commission approve Roy Adamst preliminary subdivision plat subject to the correction of a 5 foot error in the legal description concerning the north lot line dimension of Lot 2 as shorn on the subdivision plat submitted of Roy Adamet Subdivision, lot 2 being a part of the Replat of parts of Lots 9 and 10, Block 4 of the Wilson -Adams Addition, and the Planning Commission recommend to the City Council that the 20 foot alley which extends 255 feet east off Gregg Avenue, the same being situated between Hawthorn and Prospect Streets and being more particularly described as follow be closed: Beginning at a point which is North 0° Olt East 400 feet and East 25 feet of the Southwest corner of the NW* SE� of Section 9,' T -16-N, RI thence North 0° Olt East 20.0 feet, thence East 255.0 feet, thence South 00 Olt West 20.0 feet, thence West 255.0 feet to the place of beginning.
