HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962-08-27 Minutes• MINUTES OF FAYETTEVILLE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION The City Planning Commission of Fayetteville, Arkansas, met in a special meeting on Monday, August 27, 1962, at 10:30 a.m., in the City Council Room in the City Administration Building. Present: Mr. J. F. Palmer, Mr. Bill Dalton, Mr. George Caudle, Mr. Henry Shreve and Mr. Hugh Stubblefield. Absent: Mr. Clark McClinton, Mr. Bryan Walker, Mr. Paul Young and Miss Suzanne Lighton. The meeting was called to order by Chairman J. F. Palmer. The minutes of July 18, 1962 (special meeting), July 24, 1962 (public hearing), August 1, 1962 (special meeting), August 7, 1962 (regular meeting) and August 9, 1962 (special meeting) were approved as written. The Chairman reported that the purpose of the special called meeting was to give a recommendation to the City Council that Pat Watkins' final subdivision plat of Elmwood Addition be accepted. The motion was seconded by Mr. Hugh Stubblefield and passed unanimously. There was discussion inregard to permitting parking lots in R-4 Multi -Family Residential and Dormitory Districts for uses other than commercial. Zoning Ordinance No. 1239 had been amended by Ordinance No. 1282 to permit commercial parking lots in R-4 Multi -Family Residential and Dormitory Districts; however in the opinion of those members present • the amendment was meant to permit parking lots in this zone regardless of the use— residential or commercial. Since more study was necessary before making a recommend- ation to the City Council, Mr. George Caudle moved that the Planning Commission adopt Resolution PC 6-62. I• RESOLUTION PC 6-62 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS: That further study and consideration be given Paragraph 1, Uses Permitted, of Section 5, R-4 Multi -Family Residential and Dormitory District of Article 5 of Ordinance No. 1239, dated June 13, 1962, as amended by Ordinance No. 1282, to permit commercial parking in R-4 Multi -Family Residential and Dormitory Districts.
