HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962-01-23 Minutes76 MINUTES OF FAYETTEVILLE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION • The City Planning Commission of Fayetteville, Arkansas, met in a special meeting on Tuesday, January 23, 1962, at 4:00 p.m, in the Court Room in the City Administration Building. Present: Mr. Palmer, Miss Lighton, Mr. Shreve, Mr. Walker, Mr. Stubblefield, several interested persons and Mr. Arnold Christie, City Planning Committee representative. Absent: Mr. Caudle, Mr. McClinton, Mr. Dalton and Mr. Young. The Chairman reported that the purpose of the meeting was to hold a public hearing to consider the rezoning of lots 1 through 4 and lots 9 through 12 of Block 12 of Fer gusonts Addition to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and all of Block 38 of the Original Plat to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Chairman asked the secretary to read that portion of the minutes which pertained to the rezoning of lots 1 through 4 and lots 9 through 12 of Block 12 of Ferguson's Addition to the City of FayetteN& lle, Arkansas, and all of Block 38 of the Original Plat to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, from R-3 Multi -Family Residential District to C-1 Neighborhood Commercial District. The Chairman declared the hearing open for discussion. He asked those present to state their name, address and comments. Mrs. Willaim R. Omohundro at 225 South Locust'stated she was present to find out • what was going to take place. She had no objections to the rezoning. Mrs. Minnie Bronson at 227 South Locust owns two houses which would be involved in the rezoning. She did not object to the proposed rezoning. Mr. Charles J. Woody at 220 West South and Mr. Henry Co Gresham at 230 South School had no objections to the proposed rezoning. Dr. A. T. DePalma (office located at 1031 North College) owns property at 218 South School. He did not oppose the proposed rezoning. Miss Lighton read the Uses Permitted in the C-1 Neighborhood Commercial District from Zoning Ordinance No. 1239. No one present objected to the proposed rezoning. There was no further discussion, and the Chairman reported that the purpose of the public hearing having been accomplished, the public hearing was adjourned. The Chair man then declared the Planning Commission in executive session to officially act on recommendations presented at the public hearing. Miss Lighton moved that the Planning Commission recommend to the City Council that lots 1 through 4 and lots 9 through 12 of Block 12 of Fergusonts Addition to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and all of Block 38 of the Original Pl t -to e City of Fayetteville, Arkansas, be rezoned from R-3 Multi -Family Res' ential istrict to C-1 Neighborhood Commercial District.
