HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961-04-04 Minuteslie 24 MINUTES OF FAYETTEVILLE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION The regular meeting of the Fayetteville Planning Commission was called to order April 4, 1961, by Chairman Emory Gose. Planning Commission members present: Mr. Gose, Mr. Shreve, Mr. Caudle, Mr. Young and Mrs. Siegel. Others present at the meeting: Mr. Raymond Nelson, Mr. Harold E. Lieberenz, Mr. Randell Roberts, Mr. Morris Collier and Mr. Cecil Harris. 1. A public hearing on Mr. Collier's request for rezoning of a small area north of Dickson on St. Charles. The rezoning is necessary for the new Post Office. Mr. Caudle moved that the Planning Commission recommend to the City Council granting of Mr. Collier's request to rezone from R-4 to C-3. Mr. Shreve seconded the motion. There was no discussion or opposition. The motion passed unanimously. 2. Meenen Public Hearing set (Request for rezoning) Miss Lighton moved that we set the Meenen public hearing on May 5 at 4:00 p.m. This date was chosen to allow the City Council Committee to work out the Parish rezoning request. Mr. Caudle seconded the motion which carried unanimously, 3. Randell Roberts' Request for Rezoning. Mr. Caudle moved that the public hearing be set for April 25, 4:00 p.m. Mr. Shreve seconded and the motion carried. 4. Bassett Subdivision Plat (preliminary) Mr. Shreve made a motion to approve the plat as filed, with the provision that the streets, curbs and gutters meet the city's minimum requirements; we strongly recommend that Mr. Bassett bring his land into the City in order to be served by city water; also we recommend the requirement of opening of Berry Street to connect with Lonnie Street. The utility companies have expressed a desire for 15 -foot easement instead of 10 -foot, however, the Commission approved 10 feet which is required in the Subdivision Regulations. Mr. Nelson pointed out that the boundaries need to be more heavily marked. Mr. Caudle seconded the motion which passed unanimously. 5. Harris Subdivision Plat (preliminary) The Planning Commission recommended that Mr. Harris consult with the F.H.A. planning advisors for help in re - platting his land. 6. Bel -air Subdivision Plat—Mr. Shreve moved that we approve the preliminary plat subject to obtaining a street easement or drainage to Leverett. Mr. Young seconded the motion which was approved unanimously. 0 The meeting was adjourned.
