HomeMy WebLinkAbout1960-10-18 MinutesrJ • MINUTES OF FAYETTEVILLE CITY PLANNING COMMISSION Members of the Fayetteville Planning Commission met in special called session at 4:00 p.m., October 18, 1960, with George Caudle, chairman, presiding. Planning Commission members present: Mr. Caudle, Miss Lighton, Mrs. Siegel, Mr. Gose, Mr. Stubblefield and Mr. Phelps. Others present at the meeting: Mr. Raymond Nelson of the University Planning Division. Resolution No. 14-60, passed by the City Council on October 10, 1960, was presented. The resolution referred to the Planning Commission, for report and recommendation on October 24, 1960, the petition for vacating the part of Garriott Drive between the West line of Brooks Avenue and the West line of Sebtion 21, Township 16 North, Range 30 West. At the same time there was presented the petition of Earl Garriott, Myrtle Rose Garriott, Howard Anderson, and Thomas H. Bridenthal and Dortha A. Bridenthal, his wife, for the rezoning of Garriott Subdivision and Anderson's Secolvd Addition (both to the City of Fayetteville, Arkansas) from R-2 Zone - Two-family Residential District - to I-2 - Heavy Industrial District; that is, for the rezoning of the portion of said additions which are in Zone R-2. On motion of Mr. Gose, seconded by Mr. Phelps, it was unanimously voted that the Planning Commission recommend to the City Council the vacating of • Garriott Drive as requested and that the Planning Commission recommend to the City Council the calling of a public hearing on the rezoning petition, such hearing to be held on November 11, 1960, at 4:00 p.m. The petition of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Paul and of hir. and Mrs. Garland Lierly for the rezoning from Zone R -1B to Zone C-1 of Part of the Southwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter, Section 8, Township 16 North, Range 30 West (Curry Grocery) was presented. On motion of Miss Lighton, seconded by Mr. Phelps, it was unanimously voted that the Planning Commission recommend to the City Council the calling of a public hearing on the petition, such hearing also to be held at 4:00 p.m, on November 11, 1960. On motion of Mr. Phelps, seconded by Mr. Stubblefield, it was unanimously voted that the Planning Commission adopt rules of procedure in rezoning matters as drafted and presented by Mr. Nelson. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned.
