Justification:
1) Park staff recommends a money -in -lieu of land contribution for this development.
Park staff has visited with Mr. Boettcher, Public Works Director, over the possible
utilization of city -owned land located near the development for use as a neighborhood
park. Mr. Boettcher and Park staff believe that the, yet to be developed, facility plan for
the city -owned property will allow for creation of a new neighborhood park. In addition,
the citizens of this development will benefit from their proximity to the Fayetteville Boys
and Girls Club which will be located approximately V2 mile to the east.

Informational Item: Resolution to waive Ordinance 3793 to accept money in lieu as the parkland
requirement of the Cornerstone Apartments Phase II and Skylar Place Addition is on the October 15,
2002 City Council Agenda. See attached letter.
