The Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Division hosted another public meeting on Tuesday,
September 11, 2001 at 5:30 p.m. at Bundrick Park located at 1660 N. Plantation Avenue in
Fayetteville, Arkansas. The meeting was held to vote on a playground design for their park.
Four vendors playground design proposals were presented for their viewing. After long
discussions among the group on what their needs were, the group voted and unanimously chose
Miracle Recreation as their choice. The playground will consist of a 2-5 and a 5-12 year old
playground apparatus complementing each other in color. This will leave enough in the budget
for installation, ground preparation, fall safe material, benches, picnic tables, and trash
containers. The budget remains at $55,000 for this project.
Fall safe material was also a topic of discussion. The neighbors are going to visit Red Oak
Park's fall safe material from Spring Surf Tech. It is a rubberized mulch. Michelle Ward,
P.O.A. President, will call the Parks office with their thoughts on this fall safe material.
The location was a concern of several of the neighbors and all agree that they would prefer some
shade. The end of the cul-de-sac was a favorite site for shade and visibility.
The neighbors also expressed their interest in a future trail through the 4.25 acre park, but realize
that this will take time and also more funding.
The meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
