BUDGET JUNE 20, 1997 A meeting of the Facilities Committee was held at noon at the Old Post Office during lunch concerning the upcoming C.I.P. budget. PRkB Members Present: Ackerman, Bleidt, James, King, Waite Staff Present: Clark, Rogers The Committee evaluated the proposed C.I.P. budget allocations and priorities from the Parks and Recreation Staff. During the following conversations, the priorities were discussed and a listing is attached. Clark: Waite: Clark: James: Ackerman: James: Ackerman: Clark: Ackerman: Clark: Waite: We need to put all the following (see attached) projects in prioritized order. The next Parks and Recreation Board meeting is an open meeting with the public and we need to have everything in order. I have some questions about the Walker Park trail project. We need to head the trail up at the parking lot or by the Sr. Citizens Complex. We need to enhance what they are doing. Waite does have a good point. The facility will most likely exist in 1998 and we should wait to enhance it until then. The newspaper said that the Sr. Citizens Complex was about one million dollars short. Fund raising is under -way. I do not anticipate any delays with construction on the Sr. Citizens Complex. The Greathouse Bridge has to be done. This needs to be number one priority. I agree. The builders trades at West Campus might help us with the Davis gazebo. I would like to see at 15X15 or so size gazebo at Davis Park. I am looking for Mike Langford to do a timber structure here for us. Let's discuss all projects and put them into priority. Let me explain a few of the projects. The Walker pavilion project would be a renovation project - not a tear down project. The Wilson parking and lighting project has been planned for almost ten years now and needs to be completed. We are also in need of another field to use for football, tackle football, flag football, rugby, ultimate frisbee, etc... Start with Holcomb and Vandergriff on their land usage. See attached for the priorities of the CI.P. budget proposal NOTION: KING/BLEIDT The Committee moved to approve the priorities and the projects for the 1998 C.I.P. • • • me: A:\CIPSUM1.WK1 cpt s. zr i 0- CO V W N a W N -------._._...
