Members Present: Driver, James, Mackey, Waite, Wright Staff Present: Clark, Cox, Edmonston Guests Present: See attached list I. WILLINGTON PLACE Owner/Dev.: Bill Martin Location: North of Hwy 45, West of Starr Drive Park Dist: NE Units: 28 single family Land Ded.: .7 acres Money in Lieu: $8,400 Master Plan: No priority; Neighborhood 2; 45 existing acres; 1990 needs .8 acres to 1.7 acres; 2010 needs 1.5 acres to 3 acres MOTION:JAMES/WRIGHT The PRAB recommends to the Planning Commission to accept money, $8,400, in lieu of a land dedication for the green space requirement for Willington Place. MOTION APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY 4-0 (WAITE ABSENT) DISCUSSION: Wright: I think there is plenty of land with Crossover Park, so I agree with the Park staff recommendation. James: I agree with this, also. Wright: I would like to publicly thank Sonic for their $180 donation for a new backstop at Walker Park. We had an anonymous donor for fence for the backstops. Members Present: Staff Present: Media Present: Guests Present: P=Public Comment S=Staff Comment was DAVIS PARK PUBLIC MEETING JUNE 21, 1994 called to order at 6:00 pm by Dale Clark at Driver, James, Mackey, Waite, Wright Clark, Cox, Edmonston Ron Wood -Morning News, Rusty Garrett -NWA Times, Channel 40/29 See attached list Dale Clark, presented the Davis Park Master Plan and told of the history of the park. P : I would like to see a small tot playground. Especially with a sandbox, swings, and some kind of jungle gym for my older child. P : I would like to see basketball courts and things for older kids. P : What kind of trail will this be? S : It will probably be soft surface at first, but maybe hard surface eventually. Joggers prefer soft surface, but mothers with strollers and senior citizens prefer hard surface. P : Is there wildlife in the pond? My son is concerned about turtles. S : The pond is not deep. It is very soft, and not safe. P : Will there be lights in the park? What are the hours the park is open? S : There probably will not be lights City ordinance states that all parks close at 11:00 pm. S : This will not be the neighborhood's last chance for input. We want the park to reflect the needs of your community. S : It is your park. If you see anything going on, give us a call. P : What is the time table on the park? S : The street is scheduled for completion in 1994. We would like to install some playground equipment in 1995. There will be some work on the trail and other projects in 1996.
