HomeMy WebLinkAbout1992-02-03 - MinutesPRAB REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 3, 1992 The meeting was called to order by Steve Alexander at 5:30 room 326 of the City Administration Building. Members Present: Alexander, McConnell, Staff Present: Media Present: Guests Present: BUSINESS: Anderson, Einert, Palmer, Waite, Waselues Clark, Cox, Edmonston M.B. Lohr, Tom Sissom Wade Colwell, Jeanette Miller p.m. in Jenkins, I. MOTION:JENKINS/PALMER The minutes from the January 20, 1992 PRAB meeting were approved unanimously 8-0. II. WELCOME TO NEW PRAB MEMBER: DAVE McCONNELL III. GULLEY PARK CONCERNS: WADE COLWELL The Annual Cow Paddy Run hosted by the Civitan Club will. be at Gulley Park on February 22, 1992. The Club hopes to raise enough money to build a gazebo or another needed development. Colwell expressed his concerns that Gulley Park should not be over developed, but preserve the natural areas. Many people have expressed to him that they prefer the natural park. There is also lots of wildlife, such as mice and hawks, and too much development will drive these away. IV. LAKE FAYETTEVILLE PARK HWY 265 PROPOSAL: CHARLES DAVIS MOTION:JENKINS/ANDERSON The PRAB recommends to table this proposal until Charles Davis can be present. MOTION APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY 8-0. V. GREEN SPACE Clark talked with Dave Jorgenson, engineer for Foster/Brophy and Park Place, and he recommended that these two be tabled. Jeanette Miller, and others who live on Shadowridge Drive, would like for green space to be established in the Foster/Brophy Subdivision because it would benefit Shadowridge and other neighborhoods. PRAB Page 2 VI. ELECTION OF 1992 PRAB OFFICERS: MOTION:EINERT/JENRINS The PRAB recommends to elect Steve Alexander as the 1992 PRAB chairman. MOTION APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY 7-0. MOTION: ANDERSON/EINERT The PRAB recommends to elect Bill Waite as the 1992 PRAB vice-chairman. MOTION APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY 7-0. VII. APPOINTMENT OF PRAB COMMITTEES: The committees will be appointed at a later date VIII. INFORMATIONAL ITEMS IX. OTHER BUSINESS GREEN SPACE Butterfield Meadows Owner/Developer: BMP Development Park District: Location Number of Units: 30 Land Requirement: .75 acres Money in Lieu: $6,750 MOTION:JENKINS/WAIT$ The PRAB recommends to the Planning Commission to accept money, $6,750, in lieu of land for the Green Space requirement for Butterfield Meadows. MOTION APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY 8-0. Walnut Park Addition Owner/Developer: Don Johnston and David Johnson Location: North of Highway 16 W. Park District: NW Number of Units: 81 Land Dedication: 2.03 acres This plat was part of the Green Space land from Bryce Davis for Davis Park containing Mr. Davis had banked his land requirement development in this addition. dedication 9.2 acres. on future Palmer requested for the Sweetser donation, Sweetbriar Park renaming, and organization/funding of the Parks Department to be on the next agenda. PRAB Page 3 Einert presented letter received from Winston Simpson concerning the Lake Fayetteville Environmental Study Area. The PRAB will discuss thisissue at the next meeting. PRAB will meet on February 24 due to President's Day on February 17. March meetings will be moved to March 9 and 23 to avoid Spring Break. Clark reported that the City has made an offer on the Walker Park expansion project and a counter offer is expectedin the near future.
