Members Present: Alexander, Anderson, Einert, Jenkins, Waite Staff Present: Cox, Edmonston Media Present: Tom Sissom, MB Lohr BUSINESS: I. JENKINS/EINERT The minutes from the January 6, 1992 meeting were approved unanimously 4-0. II. FACILITIES COMMITTEE REPORT: ANDERSON LAKE SEQUOYAH LAND LEASE The facilities committee met with Mr. Shofner, who has a lifetime lease with the City. Mr. Shofner gave the committee a tour of the pasture land, river, and the fences that had been cut by local residents four - wheeling. Donald Couch withdrew his offer to lease the land he had requested. PRAB requested the Parks staff to send a copy of the City ordinances to the Shofner's, the Guyton's, and the Dolan's. The facilities committee will continue to review this issue and make a recommendation for use of this park property. III. GREEN SPACE FOSTER/BROPHY SUBDIVISION Owner/Developer: Mark Foster and Ralph Brophy Park District: SE Location: W of 265, N of Manor Drive Number of Units: Single Family Units Phase I 20(Prelim. Money in Lieu 25 .63 acres $5,625 12 .3 acres $2,700 41 1.03 acres $9,225 .33 acres $2,730 Parks staff will invite the developers of these subdivisions to the next PRAB meeting to discuss the possibility of acquiring land, for a neighborhood park, as required by the Green Space ordinance. IV. OTHER BUSINESS MOTION:EINERT/ALEXANDER The PRAB recommends to conduct the meetings at 5:30 p.m. MOTION APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY 4-0. Anderson reported that he is on the Chamber of Commerce Community involvement Committee that is investigating ideas to raise funds for a public golf course and a sports complex. Jenkins reported his interest in "Rails for Trails" which is a program designed to reconstruct old railroad tracks into trails. The route of this particular reconstruction is from Fayetteville to Oklahoma. The people with this program would like the PRAB's support and maybe sponsorship with the tracks within our city limits.
