CITY OF FAYETTEVILLE PARKS & RECREATION FUND, INC.
February 12, 1991
The annual meeting of the Members and Directors of the City of
Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Fund, Inc. was called to order by
Chairman Rodney Ryan at 5:05 p.m. at the Parks and Recreation
Division's Office on February 12, 1991.
Members Present:
Steve Alexander, Wade Colwell, David Lashley,
Beverly Melton, Rodney Ryan, Charlie Sego,
Bill Waite
David Lashley, Treasurer, presented the financial report. A copy
is attached to these minutes and is made a part of these minutes.
Ending Balance as of 12/31/90: $31,549.48
Checking Account Balance: $24.00
Wade Colwell reported that the Civitan Club and Downtown Rotary
Club are working on building two of the bridges located at Gulley
Park. Colwell reported that the five foot wide steel bridges will
be set this week and the concrete work will be donated. Two
placques inscribing the donation of the bridges by the Civitan and
Downtown Rotary Clubs will be concreted into the bridge. Colwell
stated that Emerson Monuments and Tunes Concrete gave discounts to
support this project and should be publicized. The Civitan has
approximately $2,500 and the Downtown Rotary Club donated $3,000
for the bridges. Colwell requested for the Park Trust Fund to fund
the remaining balance of the bridge project.
MOTION: Lashley/Lucas
To ratify the treasurers appropriation for the Gulley Park bridges
up to $2,423.74. Motion passed unanimously 8-0.
The Board discussed the need to become more active in operating as
a charitable organization and to pursue inviting donations to the
Fund.
MOTION: Melton/Lashley
To move that the Board of Directors of the Park Trust Fund become
a more active participant in support of the original Incorporated
purposes and goals. It was further moved that the Board will hold
quarterly meetings. Motion passed unanimously 7-0. (Colwell
absent)

The Board discussed changing the name of the Trust Fund, Inc.
Suggestions made were Fayetteville Citizens for Parks, Parks Trust
Fund, Inc., and Parks Foundation. It was also recommended that the
bylaws should have "a City Park" changed to read "the City Parks".
These items were tabled and will be discussed at the next meeting.
Election of Officers
MOTION: Lashley/Lucas
Moves that the present Board of Directors remain as is and that the
present officers be reelected with the addition of Charlie Sego
being Public Relations. Motion passed unanimously 7-0 (Colwell
absent)
