REGULAR MEETING
JULY 2, 1990
The meeting was called to order by Rodney Ryan at 5:15 p.m. in room
326 of the City Administration Building.
Members present: Alexander, Anderson, Colwell, Robertson, Ryan,
Waseleus, White
Staff present: Clark, Cox, Edmonston
Guests present: Ron Wood
BUSINESS:
I. MOTION:ROBERTSON/ALEXANDER
The minutes from the June 19, 1990 meeting were approved
unanimously 7-0.
II. GULLEY PARK
Clark met with Merle Seamon to discuss specifications for
the bridge. They will be ready within a couple of weeks.
Anderson reported the Rotary Club would like to do a tree
project at Gulley Park.
III. ADOPT A PARK
IBM contacted the Parks Department in regards to
beginning an Adopt -A -Park program in Fayetteville. They
wish to adopt Wilson Park and have already begun working
there. They will work in the Park three times a year and
the Parks Department will provide the sign with the name
of their business on it and vests for the workers to wear
while working . Clark would like for all Parks in
Fayetteville to eventually be included in this program.
IV. SOCCER REPORT
The Bid opening is scheduled for July 9 for the sprinkler
project and Walker North field project. The price
includes the meter tap.

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board recommends to the
City Board of Directors that $40,000 of the Green Space
fees from the Northwest Park District be used at Asbell
Park for the development of the soccer fields.

Money in lieu: $1,785
MOTION:ALEXANDER/ROBERTSON
The PRAB recommends to the Planning Commission to accept
money $1,785 in lieu of land for the green space
requirement.

Walnut Heights Addition
Owner/Developer: Rogers Company,
Location: North of Hwy 16
Park District: NW
Number of Units: 42 single, 2 duplexes
Land Dedication: .55 acres
Money in lieu: $4,580
MOTION:ROBERTSON/WHTTR
The PRAB recommends to the Planning Commission to accept
the land, .55 acres, in lieu of money for the green space
requirement. This land was banked on the Park dedication
of Bryce Davis's Walnut Grove Addition.

Green Meadows Addition
Owner/Developer: Howard Sanders
Location: On Mt. Comfort, N of Hamstring
Park District: NW
Number of Units: 89
Land Dedication: 1.11 acres
Money in lieu: $9,345
MOTION:ROBERTSON/COT.WELik
The PRAB will table this green space requirement until
the next PRAB meeting. The Engineer, Harry Gray, will be
invited to the next meeting.

Land Dedication: .04 acres
Money in lieu: $315
MOTION:COLWELL/ALEXANDER
The PRAB recommends to the Planning Commission to accept
money, $315, in lieu of land for the green space
requirement.

OTHER BUSINESS:

LEVERETT PROPERTY
A memo from City Administration requested the PRAB"s
stand on whether we would accept this property and
maintain it as a natural park.
MOTION:COLWELL/ALEXANDER
The PRAB recommends to the City Board of Directors to
accept the proposed property as a park under the
condition that the Parks Division does not have to
purchase the property, the Parks Division would not be
responsible for the development and maintenance of the
property. The park would remain within its natural
state.
MOTION APPROVED 6-1
LAKE WILSON
Lake Wilson which is 320 acres is the City's original
water support.. It was also used as a dump site at one
time. A memo from City Administration requested the PRAB
make a recommendation if there were a chance of selling
Lake Wilson.
MOTION:COLWELL/ROBERTSON
The PRAB recommends to the City Board of Directors that
the Parks and Recreation Division keep the Lake Wilson
property.
MOTION APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY 6-0 (WASELUES NOT PRESENT)
