II. SOCCER REPORT: Anderson
Greg Anderson reported that the Asbell Soccer
Field renovation project will be on the July
llth, 1990 City Board Agenda Session.

submit a topographical survey and design of
soccer fields at Asbell and Walker Park North.

TOTAL COST:
Asbell Soccer fields are

o: $580
$900
$900
$3,100
first priority.
Anderson is to present the Asbell Project
estimates to the July 2nd PRAB meeting for the
Board to recommend a cap for the project
expenditures to be taken from the Green Space
Northwest Park District Escrow Account. The
recommendation needs to be submitted to the
City Board of Directors for approval of the
soccer project award of contract and for
expenditures from the Green Space Escrow
Account.
Anderson also reported that the sprinkler
system at Walker Park North has been
installed. The sprinkler system was funded by
the Soccer Association for approximately
$3,000.
III. LAKE FAYETTEVILLE SOFTBALL COMPLEX
Dale Clark reported that the softball program
is growing with 101 adult teams playing on
four fields in Fayetteville. There are only
42 teams participating in the Springdale
Tyson's Complex Program on five fields.
Clark recommends that field #3 needs to be
reversed and slid to the south 150 feet so
that it does not continue to cause a hazard of
foul balls being hit into the field #2 area.
The Street Division is to gravel, grade and
roll the parking lot. Parking is a problem on
game nights and the current parking lot needs
to be redesigned and surfaced to properly
accommodate the softball crowds.
IV. LAKE FAYETTEVILLE NORTH PARK
The gates have been installed on Turner Street
and the Boatdock area. The gates are opened
at sunrise and closed at sunset. There have
been quite a few complaints and some
compliments over the gates at the Parks
Office.
V OTHER BUSINESS
The Bryan Walker event was postponed due to
his sudden death. Plans are being made to
donate a placque by the Sherman Lollar
Baseball Association and an event to honor Mr.
Walker in 1991.
All park fees are currently being reviewed by
Colwell and White and will be presented to
PRAB in August.

IDEAS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF DAVIS PARK
*Develop plat and topographical survey
*Do not identify it as a park until it is developed as one
*Investigate the current zones and growth in the area
*There should be a basketball court located in this park
*Develop site analysis and inventory of Park
*Master plan of Park will be developed at a later date when
there is more growth in the area. This is not a high
priority park to be developed.
