HomeMy WebLinkAbout1990-06-04 - MinutesPRAB REGULAR MEETING JUNE 4, 1990 The meeting was called to order by Rodney Ryan at 5:00 p.m. in room 326 in the City Administration Building. Members present: Alexander, Anderson, Colwell, Kimbrough, Robertson, Ryan, Waseleus Staff present: Clark, Cox Guests present: Ron Wood, Joyce McCann, Max McCann, Dorothy MaGuire BUSINESS: I , WASELEUS/AJ,RXANDER The minutes from the May 21, 1990 meeting were approved unanimously 5-0 with the following correction from other business: The Ozark Volleyball Club recommends that speed bumps be installed at Lake Fayetteville South to slow traffic down. Alexander recommends that speed bumps also be installed at Walker Park. II. WASELEUS/COTWETit PRAB meetings will begin at 5:15p.m. instead of 5:00 p.m. MOTION APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY 5-0 III. SWEETSER PROPERTY Ryan stated that supervision and maintenance on this proposed green belt area would be very difficult. Robertson believes a linkage of parks is a good thing. The homeowners stated the maintenance is very important because of snakes, wildlife, etc. Kimbrough commented that he did not think the Parks Department needed to take on more land right now. According to Alexander, the master plan should be followed and other projects should be finished first. COLWELL/ALEXANDER Creekside will be considered separate from the other property included in this green belt area. MOTTON APPROVED 6-1 PRAB Page 2 GREEN SPACE Creekside Estates Owner/Developer: Francis Ferguson Location: West of 265, East of Magnolia Park District: NE Units: 7 Land Dedication: .09 acres Money in Lieu: $735 OOLWRLT,/KIMBROUGH The PRAB recommends to the Planning Commission to take money $735 in lieu of land. MOTION APPROVED 6-1 OOLWF,LL/KIMBROUG$ The issue of making the Sweetser property a green belt area is tabled until a master plan is constructed. NOTION APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY 7-0 IV. SOCCER REPORT Anderson reported that the new field at Walker Park needs to be started so Bermuda can be planted in June. He also reported that one field at Asbell Park needs to be renovated. A topographical map and design need to be prepared for both parks before work can be done. ROBERTSON/ALEXANDER The PRAB approved to proceed with the topographical maps for Walker and Asbell Park. MOTION APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY 7-0 ALEXANDER/ROBERTSON The PRAB approved a maximum of $1,000 per field for a field plan at both Walker and Asbell Park to come out of green space funds. Kennedy Estates Owner/Developer: Bill Kennedy Location: West and East of Gulley Park Park District: NE Lots: 7 Money in Lieu: $735 AJ,F,XANDRR/ROBERTSON The PRAB recommends to the Planning Commission to take land(2 lots of 9) in lieu of money. MOTION APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY 7-0 ALEXANDER/ROBERTSON The PRAB recommends to offer $1,000 of green space money (and accept the two lots) for the waterline north of township, running west, and to request for access to the waterline in places to be decided upon at a later date. MOTION APPROVED UNANIMOUSLY 7-0 VI. BRYCE DAVIS There will be a public meeting to discuss the development of the proposed park. The meeting will be Tuesday, June 19, 1990 at Asbell Elementary School. VII. GREEN SPACE Pratt Woods Owner/Developer: Julian Archer Park District: SW Location: West of Hotz Park, East of Sang Ave. Units: 4 Land Dedication: .05 acres Money in lieu: $420 ROBERTSON/ALEXANDER The PRAB recommends to the Planning Commission to take money, $420, in lieu of land.
