REGULAR MEETING
APRIL 2, 1990
The meeting was called to order by Rodney Ryan at 5:00 p.m. in room
1 326 in the City Administration Building.
Members present: Alexander, Anderson, Colwell, Robertson, Ryan,
Waselues, White
Staff present: Cox, Edmonston
Guests present: Three graduate recreation majors from U of A,
Ron Wood
3 BUSINESS:
I. The minutes from the March 19, 1990 meeting were approved
unanimously 7-0.
II. GREEN SPACE
Mount Comfort Acres
Owner/Developer: Howard Sanders
Park District: NW
Location: MT. Comfort Road, South of Raven Lane

The PRAB recommends to the Planning Commission to accept
the money in lieu of land in the amount of $1,995, for
Mount Comfort Acres.

Park Place Addition -Phase VIII
Owner/Developer: Jim Lindsey
Park District: SE
Location: Park Place, Hwy 45 East
Single family housing: 33 units
Land Requirement: .41 acres
Money in lieu: $1,995
ANDERSON/COLWELL
The PRAB recommends to the Planning Commission to accept
money in lieu of land in the the amount of $1,995, for
Park Place Addition -Phase VIII.

III. SWEETSER PROPERTY
Colwell reported that Jerry Sweetser is interested in
-visiting with the PRAB concerning the property from
Magnolia to Country Way. Sweetser had residents sign a
contract that stated they understood this was not their
property and could use it until it was sold or used for
another purpose. White will try to get a donated
appraisal of the land or a low cost appraisal.
IV. CITY BOARD/PRAB ANNUAL MEETING
This meeting will tentatively be May 1, 1990. Ryan
stated that he would like to change the format of the
meeting by presenting demonstrations of some of our
programs for the Board Members. PRAB members were in
agreement.
V. EASTER EGG HUNT
The Easter egg hunt sponsored by the IGA will be at
Wilson Park on Easter Sunday, April 15 at 2 p.m.
VI. PARKS SPRING TOUR DATE
The Parks tour is set for April 14.
VII. SPRING DANCE RECITAL
The dance recital will be held on Tuesday, May 22 at
Ramay Junior High Cafeteria at 7:00 p.m.
OTHER BUSINESS:
Edmonston stated that there will be a Kid's Fishing
Tournament at Lake Fayetteville on Saturday June 9, 1990
sponsored by Northwest Arkansas Times and the Parks
Division.
Robertson inquired why cars park at Wilson Parking lot
that should be parking at the Fayetteville Diagnostic's
Clinic across the street. Edmonston stated that Clark
gave them permission to park there since it is on
weekdays when the park is not at full capacity.
Eldon Jansen contacted Clark concerning holding a
Community Band Concert in Wilson Park on June 14. PRAB
would help set up the band shell and provide the speaker
system and concessions.

The PRAB supports the idea of sponsoring the Community
Band Concert in Wilson Park on June 14, 1990.

The meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
The next PRAB meeting will be Monday, April 16, 1990.
