BUSINESS:
I. MOTION:LUCAS/RYAN
The minutes from the November 20, 1989 meeting were approved
unanimously 7-0.
RIDGEWAY DRIVE
Ridgeway Drive was inherited about 15 years ago by the Parks
Department. It is the duty of the Parks Department to mow
the entire area. It is a very dangerous site because of the
steep angles. It is also a great expense to the Department.
The Parks Board would like to have a public meeting in the
spring to discuss with the land owners in that area what
could be done with the land.
SAILING CLUB
Lucas reported that the Sailing Club is satisfied with the
fees that were set at the facilities committee meeting.
Sego said the Club consented to build racks for their boats
with enough room under them to store their trailers. As for
the money they owe from the past two years, they said they
would pay for a new sidewalk to the dock in replacement of
the money.
IV. LAKE RULES AND REGULATIDNS
It was reported that Jim Black would like a contract signed
by Lake Fayetteville users that they have read the rules and
regulations and agree to abide by them. Melton requested
that the fact that sailers must have certification be
printed on the rules and regulations. The Board delegated
Jim Black to be responsible for determining sailboard users
certification. Ryan was assigned to review the current
rules and regulations and make recommendations to the Parks
Board. Policies on lifejacket use will also be reviewed.
V. DANCE RECITAL
Edmonston reported that the recital went very well. There
were about 600 people present at Ramay Junior High for this
program.
