SOCCER REPORT
II. Dr. Pete Heinzelmann from the Soccer Association gave a
report on soccer. There are 35 recreational teams that
started play at Asbell on September 23, 1989 and there are
6 classic teams which started play three weeks ago. The
classic teams play here and in other towns. Mark House is
the scheduling coordinator for the Soccer Association.
Edmonston gave Heinzelmann a copy of the Parks Facility Use
Policy and some forms for reservation of the fields to give
to Mark House. The Board told Heinzelmann that from now on
anyone using City fields will need to fill out a reservation
form. Alexander told Heinzelmann that in the past
scheduling has not been done through the Parks Director.
Heinzelmann said that some of the teams that play at Asbell
are not with the Soccer Association. Sego said that
scheduling is very important mostly because maintenance of
the fields must be done. Waite requested Heinzelmann to
spread the word that groups need to reserve the fields.
Reservation signs were also discussed.
