DRAWER F PRAB 72702 (501) 521.7700 REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 3, 1988 Chairman Bill Waite called the Regular Meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board to order at 5:06 p.m. Members Present: Staff Present: BUSINESS: I II. Lashley, Lucas, Melton, Ryan, Sego, Waite, Yarbrough Clark, Edmonston, Metzger Minutes of the Regular PRAB Meeting, held August 29, 1988 were approved with the following correction: II. Soccer Association: Responsibility for payment of soccer field water bills, both current and future, will be determined by the Parks Director. GREENSPACE Lakeshore Apts. Owner/Developer: Park. District: Location: Multi Family Units Land Dedication: Money in Lieu: Lindsey & Associates NE Joyce Street . 360 3.6 acres $30,600 MOTION: RYAN/SEGO PRAB makes the recommendation to accept $30,600, in lieu of a land dedication for the Green Space requirement in the Lakeshore Apartments. Motion passed unanimously. (7-0) GREENSPACE Hunt Club Subdivision Owner/Developer: Park District: Location: Single Fam. Units: Land Dedication: Money in Lieu: Leland Couch SE Hunt Dr. & Hwy 16E 31 .39 acres $3,255 MOTION: RYAN/LUCAS PRAB 1 makes the recommendation to accept $3,255, in lieu of a land dedication for the Green Space requirement in the Hunt Club Subdivision. (7-0) 1989 CD Grant Money Park Request MOTION: RYAN/MELTON PRAB recommends to the City Board of Directors consideration of the of the following prioritized 1989 CD Grant Money Requests. Youth Center Pool Renovation Bates Park playground equipment Asbell Park playground equipment Walker Park North security light and 3 picnic tables Walker Park sand volleyball court $200,000 $ 12,000 $ 6,000 2,900 2,000 Gulley Park Development Status Dale Clark reported that the following projects at Gulley Park are underway: chain link fence around Mrs. Gulley's house, parking lot on Country Way, woodchips for the hiking trail, and resculpturing the pond. City Board of Directors approved to spend an estimated cost of $6,500 out of Green Space fees for the above projects (June 7, 1988 City Board Meeting). PRAB recommended placing a sign that designates Green Space money projects. David Lashley solicited $500 from the L for a fitness station and $282.50 from Suttle Family Trust for development Park. ions Club the of Gulley PRAB is continuing request to civic group for development of Gullley Park. A park brochure including the Conceptual Plan and Wish List for Gulley Park is being prepared. PRAB suggested publicizing the Gulley Park.Wish List in the NW Arkansas Times. Dale Clark and Connie Edmonston are to meet with Dr. Barry Brown to devise an exercise trail for Gulley Park. Discussion followed concerning having the Turkey Trot at Gulley Park or at the past year's site, Lake Fayetteville. PRAB decided to host the annual run at Lake Fayetteville on Sunday, November 1., 1988. The race will be the last run in the Grand Prix Series. V. PRAB Facilities Committee and Soccer Association Meeting Andy Lucas, Chairman of PRAB Facilities Committee, presented the PRAB Facilities Committee and Soccer Association meeting report.
