DRAWER F 72702 (501) 521-7700 PRAB REGULAR MEETING June 6, 1,988 Chairman Bill Waite called the Regular Meeting of the Parks and Advisory Board to order at 5:05 p.m. Members Present: Members Absent: Staff Present: BUSINESS: I. II. Colwell, Lashley, Lucas, Melton Ryan, Sego, Waite Yarbrough Clark, Edmonston, Speck Minutes of the Regular PRAB Meeting, held May 2, 1988 were approved. Minutes of the Regular PRAB Meeting, held May 16, 1988 were approved. GULLEY PARK _ Colwell, Clark, Edmonston Clark will present: the. Gulley Park Conceptual Plan to the City Board at their June 7, 1988 meeting. The in- formation has been garnered from PTO Meetings, Public Meetings, and PRAB suggestions. MOTION: LASHLEY/RYAN PRAB recommends that the City make $15,200 from Green Space funds avail- able to lay an ashpalt-based road off Country Way for the Gulley Park parking lot, and $1,500 for a chain link fence. Motion passed unanimously. (7-0) NOTE: THIS MOTION SUPERSEDES THE MOTION OF APRIL 4, 1988. The Church of Christ has requested that the fence be left, as is. ADULT CENTER - Clark Clark reported that Betty Turner, from the Adult Center, requested that a representative from PRAB serve on the Advisory Board of the Council on Aging, Inc. The meetings are held the first Wednesday of each month, at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Towers. Dr. Ryan will represent PRAB during the summer of 1988; Dr. Waite will be the representative in the fall of 1988. IV. WALKER PARK - Clark As a follow-up to the possible donation of land from Mr. and Mrs. Brian Walker, the concensus was that no time frame should be set for the Walker's recom- mended stipulations. 5:45 p.m. Lashley excused Sego excused • MOTION: RYAN/LUCAS PRAB recommends that the City accept the donation of land by Mr. and Mrs. Brian Walker, located west of Block Street, South of 7th Street, and north and east of the Naval Reserve Center. However, no definite time frame will be set for the three stipulations presented at the May 16, 1988 PRAB meeting. Motion passed unanimously. (5-0) V. BUTTERFIELD PTO - Colwell -Melton Dirt and/or wood chips need to be placed around playground equipment. Soccer fields be worked in the summer of 1988. VI. VII. VIII. PRAB was reminded the scripts can be used forcivic group presentations in addition to Open Channel TV. IX. •?RAH SUMMER SCHEDULE - Edmonston June- July une July 11 only. August 1 only.
