DRAWER F 72702 (501) 521-7700 PRAB REGULAR MEETING MAY 2, 1988 Chairman Bill Waite called the .Regular Meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board to order at. 5:00 p.m. Members Present: Members Absent: Staff Present: BUSINESS: Colwell, Lucas, Ryan, Waite, Lashley, Melton, Sego, Yarbrough Clark, Edmonston, Reid, Speck Minutes of the Regular PRAB Meeting held April 18, 1988 were approved. II. GULLEY PARK Clark, Edmonstori, Reid, Colwell Although PRAB is awaiting the TOPO Map of the Gulley .land, Patti Reid presented a Gulley.Park Concept Plan after receiving input from Staff and PRAB. Draining the ponds to re -shape the pond banks was discussed. Colwell reported the Church of Christ parking lot cannot be used; however, it may be used for the pro- posed public meeting. Probably will not be possible to use the Winwood Baptist Church parking lot. Parking lot sizes are roughly 60'x160' Possibly use sewer easement for parking. Can (jet by with a. 33' (or purchase) strip. Need 150' frontage to get to park property. Sweetser may exchange wooded lots for parking lot. Possibility of one lane, in and out, to include parking to almost border the park. Restrooms to be placed, centrally, on sewer easement. PROPOSED DOGWOOD PARK - Edmonston,'Redd PRAB reviewed correspondence from John D. Campbell in which he proposed development of a Dogwood Park on the south side of Lake Fayetteville. ' BATES/PTO/PRAB.PUBLTC MEETING ` Ryan',' Lucas April.28,11988 BATES PTO expressed the need for. the following items at their meeting held April: 28, 1988: Frisbee/Golf at Finger Park. More trees in Bates area Putt Putt Golf in Bates Park. More climbing apparatus in Bates Park. (similar to Asbell Park) Need drinking fountain .at• Bates Park Need public coin telephone Swimming pool in Bates Park. Bates Park needs swings Need speed breakers on Farmexts Road .to Finger Park. Speeding problems Want concession. stand in Bate& Park PRAB recommends that C.D. funds be requested for a playground apparatus and drinking fountain at Bates Paxk for the 1989 C.;D..Funding Year, since Bates would qualify for C.
