MOUNTAIN 72701 (501) 521-7700 PRAB REGULAR MEETING April 4, 1988 Chairman Bill Waite called the Regular Meeting of the Parks and Advisory Board to order at 5:06 p.m. Members Present: Colwell, Lashley, Ryan, Waite, Yarbrough Members Absent: Lucas, Melton, Sego Staff Present: Guest Present: BUSINESS: Clark, Edmonston, Speck Jerry Jensma, McClelland Engineers I. Minutes of the Regular PRAB Meeting, held March 21, 1988, were approved. II. 1988 PRAB COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS 1988 PRAB Committees will remain as 1987, as listed below: BUDGET LASHLEY Yarbrough Waite FACILITIES LUCAS Colwell Sego PROGRAM/PERSONNEL RYAN Melton III. GULLEY PARK - Colwell, Clark, Edmonston The Facilities Committee, Lucas and Colwell, met with Edmonston on Friday, April 1 to compile PRAB accumulated information for the Gulley Park Master Plan. PRAB accepted the Gulley Park Master Plan with the recom- mendation that Phase IV be eliminated. MOTION: LASHLEY/YARBROUGH PRAB recommends that the City make $6,500.00 from Green Space funds available to lay a gravel base off Country Way for a Gulley Park parking lot and chain link fence FAYETTEVILLE, ARKANSAS PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT 113 W. 'GULLEY PARK Continued PRAB recommends that approximately:seven..hundred fifty-three feet (/53') of fencing and a gate be installed tor Mrs. Gulley. Motion passed unanimously. (5-0) MOTION:' RYAN/COLWELL PRAB recommends that the name FRED A. GULLEY PARK be 'adopted. Motion passed unanimously. (5-0) PRAB requested .Staff to work with Patti on plans for Gulley Park, and that Patti have the plans available for the April 17 PRAB meeting. PRAB requested Colwell to work with Barry Brown to locate and design eight to twelve multi-level stations. Other areas discussed: Historic marker, strategically placed, Park Opening, Parking, with information fur- nished to churches in writing. IV. SOFTBALL REPORT- Clark 95 Slow Pitch - Adults; 6 Fast Pitch - Men 4 games per night at Lake Fayetteville and Asbell Computer will be used to compile a mailing list of all softball players. Have met with umpires. Good league through the years, improving umpires, facilities. Extra practice fields are important. Anticipating good enrollment for girls drafts which will take place this weekend. Class A & B Softball Tournament will be held Aug. 20-21 V. SPRING TOUR Clark/Edmonston Spring Tour remains: Sat., April 16, 8:00 a.m., Wilson.
