The Regular Meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chairman Bill Waite:

NEW PARK PUBLIC MEETING FOLLOW-UP - Edmonston
(Gulley Land)
Thirty-one people attended the Public Meeting
held Tuesday,.°January 26, at 7:00 p.m., at the
Butterfield Elementary School Cafeteria, for
the development of the proposed Gulley Park.
A summary of the public meeting discussion is
included as Addendum "A". Staff is to check on
the sewer easement off Township Road for a pos-
sible park entrance. Access and parking at the
park are very important considerations for the
new park.
Next Public Meeting: Root Elementary School
Cafeteria, Thursday, February 18, at 7:00 p.m.
PRAB also discussed the possibility of selling
Routh Park to obtain funds to develop the pro-
posed Gulley Park.
LEVERETT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTO MATCHING
FUNDS REQUEST - Clark
The Matching Funds request was tabled until
the next Regular PRAB Meeting.

COMBS PARK HORSE CLUB REQUEST - Clark
Marion Orton, NORTHWEST ARKANSAS RIDING CLUB, submitted
a map of the horse trails blazed at Combs Park and the
Industrial Park area. (Map attached as Addendum ".B")

The Horse Club requested assistance in purchasing fifty
(50) trail signs. Prices are $7 for 50 and over.
PRAB requested that the Horse Club share the cost and
install the trail signs.
PRAB discussed the possibility of using Green Space
money for this purpose.
IV. HAPPY HOLLOW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTO REQUEST - Clark
Dale Clark reported the request for two park benches
at Happy Hollow Park. A Public Meeting, of the Happy
Hollow PTO and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board
concerning park input for the entire City, will be held
on Tuesday, February 23, at 7:00 p.m., at the Happy
Hollow School Library. Dale Clark and Beverly Melton
will represent PRAB at this meeting.

• It is the..recommendation of the Parks and .Recreation
:Advisory.Beard..'and:Sta'-ff,:,:that "the 'Lake Fayetteville
• Boat -Dock operation._:to.be.put out for bads,' and the
operator be a self-employed contractor."
The,.Boat Dockl ob description in existence would .serve
as-a.guide.for the operator.'. The City would continue
to.carry.insurance,maintain the grounds and facilities,
and: to provide utilities.
The. operator. would. keep the lake open from .sun -up to
sun -down seven (_7). days.a..week, collect stall rental,
daily.permit fees,' and -make necessary reports and turn
:them in to the- Parks.Director.' The operator would be
'peimitted_to operate -:concessions, provide boat rentals
'and other services that.:would enhance the Make Fayette-
: ville operations. in addition, the operator would be

bid for the

Fayetteville
Boat Dock
operations,
and
that
an interview team from Parks
Advisory
Board
and
Staff
select
an operator
based
upon
cost,
experience,
and
potential.
Further,
that
the
con-
tract
be for one (1)
year subject
to renewal
if
agreeable
to
the
Parks
Staff, and
that
a cost -of -
living
be added
to the
amount paid
by the
City.
The
City
would
pay
the
contracted amount over
a
period
of fifty-two weeks,
paying an equal
amount
every two weeks.
Motion passed unanimously. (8-0)
CITY BOARD OF DIRECTORS -ANNUAL MEETING WITH THE
PARKSAND RECREATION ADVISORY BOARD
The Annual City Board/PRAB meeting is set for Tuesday,
February 16. Treats will be served from 5 p.m. until
5:30 p.m. immediately followed by abusiness meeting.

Chuck Yarbroughannounced that Coca Cola and ASA
(Amateur. Softball Association) is sponsoring a program
whereby all Adult through Youth Fayetteville Softball/
Baseball teams will be awarded passes to the Razorback
baseball games. Teams that wear their uniforms may
gain admission at the gate for $1 per person. Team
discounts for cokes and hot dogs will also be offered
at the Razorback games.
