REGULAR MEETING
NOVEMBER 16, 1987
The Regular Meeting of the Parks and Recreation Advisory
called to order at 5:05 p.m. by Chairman Bill Waite.

I. The Minutes of the Regular PRAB Meeting held
November 2, 1987 were approved.
Board was
II. BUDGET - Clark,Edmonston
Request has been made to turn in a list of high
priority budget items, including renovation of
the Youth Center Swimming Pool and the proposed
Gulley Park.
III. TURKEY TROT - Edmonston
The Turkey Trot was held at 2:00 p.m. at Lake
Fayetteville, November 15. There were 70 entrants
this year; however, in spite of the inclement
weather, 64 runners participated.
IV. APPRAISAL- GULLEY PROPOSED PARK - Edmonston
Deane L. Davenport appraised the Gulley land at
$165,000. The original copy of the appraisal has
been submitted to the Fayetteville City Board of
Directors.
V. C.D. STATUS.- Edmonston
C.D. funds for $28,000 have been requested for
Jefferson and Walker Parks. This will be Item
Number Two on the November 17 City Board Meeting.
VI. RESTROOM ARTICLE Clark',' Edmonston
PRAB was highly complimentary to Clark and
Edmonston for the article they wrote about
restroom facilities. The article appeared
in PARKS/MANAGEMENT MAGAZINE.
VII. PRAB EXPIRING TERMS Edmonston
Lucas, Melton, Waite, and York will respond to cor-
respondence they have received advising their PRAB
terms expire in 1987.

CITY BOARD ANNUAL MEETING DATE - Edmonston
PRAB was requested to come up with new ideas for
the Annual Meeting with City Board. The date for
the upcoming meeting will be determined later.
IX. PARK VIDEO - Lucas
Lucas requested that PRAB read and make suggestions
and/or corrections for the Park Video Narrative by
Steve Voorhies. These recommendations should be
returned to Edmonston by Monday, November 23. Lucas
and Edmonston will then review the recommended
changes prior to presentation for video taping.
